I have always talked to my cats. Having conversations with them like I would with any human. Asking them how they slept or how their day was. And they would always respond, either with meows or head bumps. My husband would give me looks like I was crazy. However, I knew deep down that they understood every word that I said to them. Over the past year, I have realized just how much they do understand when we talk to them. Do you talk to your cats?
Sentient and Intelligent
Our cats are highly sentient and intelligent beings. So much more than most people give them credit for. They truly do understand what we say. But not only that, they have the ability to understand our feelings, emotions, and especially, our energy. All of that combined allows our cats to be excellent communicators. What’s even better is that our cats hold no judgement. They are there for us no matter what.
There have been many nights when I have told Zazzles some of my deepest fears and biggest wishes. There have also been nights when he has eased my sadness and dried my tears. Talking with Zazzles is very easy. I know that he truly listens to me and understands what I am saying to him. Through our bedtime chats, I can sense his love for me growing. When you take the time to actually talk with your cat your bond with them strengthens.
Listening to Your Cats
Talking with our cats is just like talking with our friends and family. We need to also be able to listen to them. I mean truly listen to them and what they are trying to tell us. Not just hear their meows, but what those meows are actually saying. We have all said, “I know. I know” when our cats meow at us. But do you really know? Strengthening the bond and connecting with your cats will allow you to truly understand what they are telling you.
Even though I have been able to communicate with my cats for a while now, it still amazes me when I ask them a question and they respond. And not only do they respond, but I understand what they are actually trying to communicate with me. I am able to tap into them. What is their body language saying? The tone of their meow? What is happening around them at that time? All of this will help you to understand what your cat is saying to you.
Good for the Soul
Having conversations with my cats is great for my soul. There is something special about being able to talk with my cats about anything and everything. Knowing that they are hearing and listening to me is refreshing. But the best feeling is knowing that they understand what I am telling them. Our cats do so much for us. They are our companions, teachers, healers, and therapists. They are always there for us whenever we need them. Especially is you need someone to talk to.
