Mission Meow – Helping Feline Non-Profits

If you know me or have been following my blog, you know that I am passionate about cats. I follow the CREAM mentality, which is Cats Rule Everything Around Me. My passion for all things cats runs wide and deep. Non-profits and rescues are a soft spot for me. They work tirelessly to be able to rescue and provide care for as many cats as they possibly can. The biggest challenge is funding. Rescues are limited to the number of cats they can rescue by the amount of funds they have. It can be very frustrating, and most rescues do not have the time it takes to fundraise. Enter Mission Meow!

Mission Meow

Creating Meaningful Change

Mission Meow is the brainchild of Sally Williams, a lifelong cat lover and nonprofit founder and director. I was introduced to Sally and Mission Meow through The-Two-Crazy-Cat-Ladies recent podcast and was instantly drawn in by her passion. She has a love for cats and an even deeper love for nonprofits working diligently to help cats. The nonprofit world is not foreign to her. She was the founder and director of The Brodie Fund, which helped to bring financial assistance to families who had pets diagnosed with cancer. For 6 years, The Brodie Fund impacted the lives of so many cats and their families.

Sally and Marlin

Working with nonprofits, Mission Meow is going to be able to create meaningful change in the cat community. The way that this is going to be achieved in a genius concept. Taken directly from their interested business information:

Mission Meow offers the opportunity for businesses to come together and raise money
as a group to make a larger impact.
Because there is power in numbers.

Instead of donating $500 to help rescue/spay & neuter cats, you can say your business
is a part of the Mission Meow coalition donating $10,000+ to help felines in need
(rescue/spay/neuter etc). Ie:
• $10,000 to a single rescue = rent for 6+months
• $10,000 = 250 cats spayed/neutered

Mission Meow

This is HUGE!!! I know of so many rescues and other nonprofits that will benefit greatly from this opportunity. The more Sally spoke about the mission, the more excited I got. I honestly could not believe that this way of fundraising for nonprofits had not been thought of before. Way to go, Sally, for seeing a need and working to find a way to fulfill that need! You are truly inspiring! Watch the podcast here.

You Can Help!

Mission Meow is set to launch this October. It takes time and effort to set up such an amazing concept. Sally and her amazing team want to make sure that everything is purrfect before launching. At this point, if you are a business or if you know of a business that would like to be a part of Mission Meow, contact Sally at missionmeow22@gmail.com. Eventually, there will be opportunities for us “average cat lovers” to be able to volunteer in some capacity. Mission Meow will be a nationwide coalition impacting the cat community everywhere.

Right now, Mission Meow has a GoFundMe running to help offset the startup costs necessary to get this mission started. You can donate to help here. Be sure to follow and like their Facebook and Instagram pages to keep up with all the happenings of Mission Meow. They are going to make a huge impact on the lives of so many cats. And for that, I am excited and so very thankful!
