This past weekend, I drove over four hours to be a part of something that will forever be stored in my memories as one of the most amazing experiences I have ever had. I had the pleasure and honor of participating in awarding a huge grant from Mission Meow to For The Love Of A Paw. The whole experience was absolutely inspiring and warmed my heart and soul to see the dedication they have to help cats in need. I was in complete awe at the system they have in place to care for all the cats that they have in house.
Creating Meaningful Change
Over two years ago, I was introduced to Sally Williams, founder & director of Mission Meow. And because I truly believe that everything happens for a reason, I know that the Universe intended for us to meet. Our passion for cats and desire to help those in need fueled our friendship. The goal of Mission Meow is to provide large grants to cat centric small non-profits. This is accomplished through quarterly donations from Mission Meow Business Partners, which I am now honored to be as Moon Mojo Feline. It is truly a genius idea. And one that has been creating meaningful change to numerous non-profits over the past two years.
Shortly after meeting Sally and the launch of Mission Meow, I volunteered to be their blogger. I was already blogging for my own website, so it made sense to offer my skills to help this amazing organization. Over the past two years, I have had the privilege to interview some AMEOWZING humans, from business partners to grant recipients. It gives me hope in humanity to see so many people coming together to help cats in need. Because as much as I would love to rescue and save all the cats, I do have my limits.
Big Dreams
Visiting For The Love Of A Paw was such an incredible experience. We all know my complete and utter obsession with cats. Walking through the facility was absolute heaven for me. Everywhere I looked there was a cat or kitten. Mini panthers, Torties, Gingers, Tabbies, Tuxies, Cats with beautiful markings. You name the cat of your dreams, and it is probably waiting for you in Elloree, SC. I am not even exaggerating. It was a cat lover’s dream.
And speaking of dreams, For The Love Of A Paw has completely outgrown their current facility. So, when the building next to theirs became vacant, they quickly acquired it. Their plans are to remodel the new space to use as their medical facility. A place where they can house and treat medical cases. An area where they can have a dedicated quarantine space when needed. As well as a space to recover cats that go through their TNR program. And those are just a few things that they have in planned.
Purrfect End to Summer Break
This was the last weekend of summer break, and I couldn’t think of a better way to spend it. Not only did I get to spend the weekend in Charleston, but I did it spending time with cats and some amazing humans. For The Love Of A Paw has big dreams, and this Mission Meow grant is going to afford them the opportunity to achieve a lot of those dreams. I will forever be grateful to Sally Williams, for not only creating Mission Meow, but for allowing me the honor of being the Mission Meow blogger and being able to be a part of such a humbling and beautiful grant presentation. Stay tuned for more updates from For The Love Of A Paw and the official ribbon cutting of their new facility later this year.
