CBD For Cats

April 21 is National Pet CBD Day. We have heard a lot over the years about CBD and the benefits it has for humans. What pet owners may not know is that CBD has multiple benefits for your cat as well. Just like humans, cats have an endocannabinoid system. This is a biological system that plays many important roles in the body. It is also responsible for the physical and psychological effects of cannabis.

Benefits of CBD for Cats

The benefits of CBD for your cat are numerous. The main benefit is the reduction of inflammation, which helps to reduce pain. This, alone, can help with many conditions that you cat may be suffering with.

Other benefits are:

  • Anxiety
  • Arthritis
  • Seizures
  • Inflammatory Bowel Disease
  • Loss of appetite
  • Loss of energy
  • Tumors
  • And more…

More research on the benefits is happening every day. Veterinarians are learning more and more about how CBD can benefit your cat.

Which CBD is Best?

There are a lot of options when it comes to CBD. It seems as if everyone has come out with some form of wonder oil. When it comes to choosing which brand is best for your cat, as well as yourself, ALWAYS consider sourcing. Where did it come from? How was it sourced? It is probably not the best idea to give your cat, or even take yourself, the CBD that you see at the local convenience store. It is also best to give your cat a oil that is full spectrum.

CBD Dog Health has an amazing product line for cats. They have 3 options to choose depending on what your cat needs. All of their products come with a Certificate of Analysis. This is the brand that I am purchasing to try with my babies. I will give a follow up on what changes and improvements I notice with my cats.

You can also buy CBD treats and chews, which does make giving it to your cat a little bit easier.

Final Thoughts

My husband and I have been taking CBD for years now. We have both noticed the benefits it has provided for us, from lessening anxiety to help with my IBS. It still amazes me that it has taken me this long to make the connection that if it helps me and my conditions, why wouldn’t it help with any ailments that my cats may be suffering from.

Once again, I have not started my cats on a CBD regimen, so I cannot personally testify to the benefits. However, being me, I have done a lot of research and all of it has been good in response to how CBD is improving the lives of cats every day. I am really interested to see how it helps with my 2 senior cats, as well as how it helps with my potential FIP kitty. I am excited to add CBD to my toolbelt in efforts to provide my cats with a happy and healthy life.
