The Cat Community is Full of Heart

Getting some kitty therapy.

Some of the best people that I know are also cat lovers. Cats are excellent judge of character and if someone has cats, then they must be a good person. Over this past year, I have learned just how much heart the cat community actually has. Those who are involved in any aspect of the cat community have some of the biggest hearts. They all go above and beyond in their efforts to help cats in need and provide the best possible care for their own furbabies. It is a humbling experience to witness and fills me with a sense of pride to be a part of such an amazing and loving Cat Community that is full of heart and love.

Part of an Amazing Community

I have been an active part of the cat community for a few years now. I volunteer at FCAP (Feral Cat Assistance Program) during their monthly spay/neuter clinic. It is an amazing experience to be a part of helping so many feral cats have a chance at a better life. We are a small group of dedicated people who show up each month to help be a part of the solution. From the veterinarians to the people who trap the cats to those of us who work the clinic, we are all trying our best to help put a dent in the overpopulation problem in the cat community. I always leave clinic exhausted but filled with a sense of pride and accomplishment and a full heart for the group of volunteers who have become my friends.

Amazing work being done at FCAP

Almost 2 years ago, I became a VIP member in The-Two-Crazy-Cat-Ladies Team Cat Ladies. This group has had such a positive impact on my life. There is something to be said about having like-minded people around you. The members of this group are always available with advice, encouragement or just an ear to listen or a virtual shoulder to cry on. Each Friday, we get together either by Zoom or a Team Page livestream and catch up with each other. I always look forward to hanging out with my Cat Fam. They have been there for me so many times. I am beyond grateful for each one of them, especially Jae & Adrienne who brought us all together.

Recipient of Love

Over this past year, my involvement in the Cat Community has increased. Writing this blog and inviting readers into my daily life with my cats, with all the ups and downs that come with it, has not always been easy. I am sure that I write about some things that others might not agree with. But, through it all, I have met some amazing people in the Cat Community. A lot who have become friends.

Last week when I was dealing with some major cat trauma with 2 of my cats, I had to swallow my pride and start a fundraiser to help cover the vet bills that were quickly accruing. The outpouring of support, both emotionally and financially, was truly humbling. I knew I had compiled an amazing support network. I didn’t realize the extent of the support. Other members of the Cat Community, like Mission Meow, have shared my fundraiser. People who I have never met have donated. It has truly been humbling and a testament to the amazing hearts of those in the Cat Community.

An Attitude of Gratitude

Being a member of the Cat Community means so much to me. I love being around others who really want to hear about my cats. It also means a lot to me to be a part of a community who wants to make a difference in the world and for the cats who live in it. I am full of gratitude for all those who have helped me when I needed it. I have always been the one helping and never thought that I would be on the other end. If you want to find people with the biggest hearts, then you need to look no further than the Cat Community.

More cat therapy.
