We are constantly hearing about Mercury being in retrograde. Once again, Mercury, along with 5 other planets, is in retrograde. So, what exactly is retrograde? It is when a planet appears to be moving backwards in its orbit. When planets are in retrograde, we can expect disruptions of all sorts happening in our lives. But how does retrograde affect our cats? When planets are in retrograde, we can expect our cats to feel the effects even more than we do.
Retrograde Affects
Just Mercury being in retrograde is enough to affect our cats immensely. Especially with Mercury being the ruler of animals. Because our cats are very sensitive to energy, when Mercury is in retrograde our cats will feel it. We may see disagreements happen in a multi-cat household. Some cats may start acting aloof and very timid. Indoor cats may try to flee or escape the safety of their homes. Their senses are heightened, and their intuition is running amok.
Right now, our cats are not only dealing with Mercury, but also Venus, Saturn, Uranus, Pluto, and Neptune. 6 planets wreaking havoc on their energy, as well as ours. Things are a bit chaotic for our babies right now. Each planet in retrograde brings its own set of challenges and they will affect our cats differently. You may notice your cat sleeping a lot more in an effort to deal with all of the chaotic energy. Or, you may find them having some major zoomies, trying to work off the chaotic energy. How ever your cat chooses to work with the retrograde energies, there are things you can do to support them.
Retrograde Support
How can you support your cat during this retrograde season? First and foremost, you need to keep on check on your own energy. Our cats are greatly affected by our energy. They will pick up on whatever is going on with us without us even knowing. All of the retrogrades will have an effect on us and we need to remember that. Keeping a watch on any tensions that may start to arise between our cats is also important. This is the time that little disagreements could grow into huge cat fights. Something we definitely don’t want. Allowing our cats to work through this retrograde season in a way that works for them is extremely important.
You can offer your cat support and ways to deal with the crazy energy. Providing them with some calming herbs and hydrosols, like Chamomile, Calendula & Lavender, can help them shift their energy. Giving them some crystals, like Amethyst, Red Jasper, & Carnelian, will also provide them opportunities to shift all of the chaotic energies that is coming from 6 planets in retrograde. And the best thing is that you will also benefit from these herbs, hydrosols, and crystals as much as your cat. Keeping yourself calm during retrograde season will help to keep your cats calm.
